Little Petra lounge chair reflects Boesen’s approach to design, with its fluid, organic expression designed to naturally embrace the body
Little Petra is a real find from the archives of Danish design. With only about 30 pieces ever produced, &Tradition is thrilled to bring this little-known treasure back to life, honouring Boesen’s original design and love of natural materials.
Initially introduced back in 1938, Little Petra won instant praise at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition, subsequently winning awards at exhibits in New York and Berlin. It’s one of just a few designs by Viggo Boesen, who was associated with Denmark’s signature design aesthetic in the 1930s. Little Petra was made-to-order for private clients only. Boesen partnered with one of the most highly respected cabinetmakers of his time, A.J. Iversen, who made each chair by hand from his workshop in Copenhagen. The chair reflects Boesen’s approach to design, with its fluid, organic expression designed to naturally embrace the body.
